The multi-part work Red Book (2015) is based on the once widely circulated Vietnamese book DUOI LA CO VE VANG CUA DANG, which documents “the glorious days” of Ho Chi Minh’s Communist Party of Vietnam. First published in 1976, a year after the end of the Vietnam War, the book’s individual bound chapters have been transformed into separate collages. The resulting works create otherworldly, sometimes unsettling visual worlds that reinterpret the book’s propagandistic content, highlighting its fragility and constructed nature.
